a history of the civil wars that climaxed in the accession of Augustus to the throne. It is adequate in coverage but has little startling to say.
½Not quite as well written as the previous volume, but still a thorough detailing of the events (political, social, military) that to the break up of the Republic and establishing of the Empire.
