Written shortly after World War I, this book was rejected for publication after his death and was not printed until 1976. Marshall walked the front lines. It is a good picture of trench warfare and shows how the fighting went. Then at the end he was a celebrity in postwar Britain and danced, danced and danced with the titled and some royalty. Essential for understanding this important American.
