This work covers women's contributions to American society from the first European women arriving in Jamestown Colony in 1607 to Maya Angelou reading one of her original poems at President Clinton's inauguration in 1993. So many other endeavors by American women occurred during this span of almost four hundred years that it's virtually impossible to compile everything in one work, but Lunardini has done as excellent job of selecting two hundred very significant events to briefly chronicle.
