Bernd Freytag von Loringhoven (1914–2007)

One wonders what the original German title was, as both the French (dans le bunker de Hitler) and English titles are mis-leading. Having read the anonymous diary "A Woman in Berlin" I expected something similar here. This is nothing as intimate so much as broad stokes that paint the history of the war as the author meets, works with, or becomes acquainted with other movers and shakers. It is an enjoyable read, but quickly done. What is most interesting is the fact that he was interviewed by a "Major Oughton" following the war. Major Oughton was the assumed name of Hough Trevor-Roper.… (altro)
