He posts collages based on his epigrams on Tumblr. A Chicago native, Lipsey received his education at Shimer College, a Great Books college, completing his degree at Roosevelt University. When I selected this book, I didn't exactly know what a Aphorism was (Def: a pithy observation that contains a general truth, such as, “if it ain't broke, don't fix it.”). "The Quotable Stoic" introduced me to this type of writing in very cool way. The many topics covered all dabbled in the human experience and small insights into everyday life.

A very interesting collection of philisophical thoughts. Some are witty, others thought provoking and many bring a smile to the readers eyes. The book is organized well by general topics and there is an index included. There is wisdom in this easy to read book and it was a most enjoyable diversion.

"The Quotable Stoic" is an amazing book. I loved it. The quotes are funny, poignant, sharp and always true. Great book.
