Three little pigs living in the forest each build houses to live in. One out of sticks, one out of straw, and the third out of bricks. Then along comes a big bad wolf to blow their houses down so he can eat them. The wolf succeeds at blowing the houses of straw and sticks down but the pigs escape to the house of bricks and the wolf is unable to blow it down. The wolf then tries to climb down the chimney only to get his tail set on fire in the fire place. The wolf runs off defeated and the pigs live together happily ever after.

This is a simple fairy tale that's easily enjoyable for people of any age which is why I still enjoy it to this day. Even after all these years it's still entertaining to see the wolf blowing down the first two houses and try so hard to blow down the third in his futile efforts.

I would use this story in the classroom to teach a unit on fairy tales and the lessons that can be learned from them. I would even have the students build their own small houses out of balsa wood as an art project for this story.… (altro)
