museum curator - Breve biografia
- Jennifer Lewis is the bestselling author of more than twenty books. She has lived on both sides of the Atlantic and blames a childhood addiction to fairy tales and classic romances for sending her imagination into overdrive. Her stories have been translated into—at last count—twenty-two languages and are read on every continent, except maybe Antarctica. She lives in South Florida with her family, and when she isn’t writing she’s usually kayaking.

Oy! This book had such potential with one of my favorite tropes - the office romance. Unfortunately, it falls flat on all fronts.
The heroine, Brooke Nichols has been in love with her boss, RJ Kincaid for 5 years, and finally, after one brief kiss, they begin an intense romance. Sounds promising, right?
No! The relationship is so rushed that it is almost over before it's even begun. Brooke and RJ go from professional boss/assistant to sexual intimacy (that in any other reality would be grounds for a lawsuit) in the blink of an eye.
In terms of the characters, Brooke is a complete doormat whose internal musings place her in creepy stalker territory although I'm sure this was not the author's intention. RJ is a spoiled, over-privileged, judgemental jerk who treats women like playthings, yet suddenly realizes he's in love with his assistant whom he barely noticed for 5 years.
The only worthwhile elements in the book are the developments in the ongoing murder investigation (I have my suspicions as to the killer) and Jack and Nikki's continuing romance. It will be interesting to see what happens with them.… (altro)
