Review:

In this book we see Max really diving into his undercover role with WBK – a 1% MC. There are many things going on, but the mission and end game are the same for the former Red Team members. They’ve taken Selena on as a full time member and Max, saving Hope as she’s tormented during initiation to WBK, puts them together whether it was on his to do list or not.

We learn more about Max, his (pierced) appearance, and his backstory – as well as his time in prison (which is what landed him a spot on Red Team prior to working for Owen.

We have Hope (a great motorcycle mechanic) and her issues with altering her life to find and try to save her brother.

While there is plenty of story here – I just had an issue connecting with Max and Hope.

One thing I loved:

This book was honestly just ok for me. Nothing really stood out here as it did in pervious books in the series.

One thing I disliked:

I had a much more difficult time getting into Max’s story. I felt we would hear Val’s or Kelan’s next as they seemed to have more mention in previous stories. When it was mentioned several times that Max was into pain, I really thought some of that would come out in the adult scenes as well.

Discrepancies:

I remember in an earlier book Selena being mentioned at 5’8″ (though I could be mistaken) and in this one she is 5’9″ – additionally, book 3.5 maybe should have been book 4.5 as in this book Kit and Ivy are still working up to their wedding. It does happen toward the end of the book (in much less detail than the novella), but I still do believe the in depth event should have been book 4.5.

Kit and Ivy were the last proposal, but the first wedding – a direction that had seemingly been in play in some way since they were in highschool.

I am still in love with the author’s world and her character creation. Each are unique, each have struggles (though I am still longing for one that does not). In this novella, we see a wedding planned and happen. There is such great detail in the bridal boutique that it feels like you are there.

Another great part is that this novella demonstrates that sometimes you can let go of the past for anew start, the past does not have to be the future.

I can’t wait to read all the wedding novellas and decide which is best.

Review:

I wish the women would stop fighting the relationships. haha

Kit and Ivy have a huge history.

As mentioned in the first book, Kit has a huge history with the area he comes back to in order to assist his sister with suspicious happenings. Book 3 picks up where book two left off. The team is in the middle of some stuff, with no end in sight. They’ve moved and adjusted into Ty’s huge family home.

Lessen learned: sometimes dead people aren’t dead.

It was great to see both Kit’s story and Ty’s story continue. Rocco took more of a back seat and Kelan and Val seemed to play larger roles. The author seems to be working her way through a significant age difference with a relationship brewing (although I wish she’d also tackle one where the female was older).

I will admit, Ivy did get on my nerves more than Mandy or Eden did. She came across, in some places, as just too difficult/stubborn.

However, that didn’t effect my overall thoughts on the book. Great read and finished in one sitting. I actually read book 2 and book 3 in the same day as I had a day off from work.

I love that this is a series. We stick with our old characters and more develop as we go. I am absolutely a series girl.

On thing I disliked:

It seems that through all these, each former Red Team member has had some kind of severe previous trauma – even the women. I am looking forward to meeting some that are just normal.

When these guys fall – they fall!

At first, watching this book progress, I wasn’t sure how I felt. Like, they just know. It’s such an odd thing. I wish we loved like that in real life (and maybe some people do – good on them).

The beginning of the book we see Ty rescuing himself from the unfortunate events of the last book.

And just running into Eden 🙂

Ty overcomes some serious things. And it’s great the way the author shows how his team supports him through these events. True friends are rare and Ms. Levine does a great job of showing the friendships and bonds each one of her characters have.

Again, loved the story development.
