Things start to unravel in small pieces. Hints and clues to various events are starting to show through. Some people are not who or what they seem to be. Friends and allies are not always there for you and the truth has a way of being found.

There are a slew of clues and a slew of new and old face. Backstories that need to be told. And finding a way to make a relationship work that already had barriers in place. Avi finds that she was loved. Noah finds that he still had demons chasing him at every turn. Getting to the bottom of everything has a price. What price will Avi and Noah have to pay to know the full truth of it all?

Allyn Lesley has found her pacing and set this one on the charts. The title says it all Deeper: Descent. You are most certainly in for a deeper look behind what makes Noah who he is. There are deeper plot lines revealed. There are deeper connections revealed. There are deeper secrets, deceit, and danger. The bridge between Avi and Noah begins to discern a deeper connection. But there are still obstacles in the way to what could be called a HEA. These two books together makes for a read to remember.

With Deeper in action, we find that Noah has clawed, fought, dug, grinded, his way to the top of the heap. All this with secrecy surrounding him and what he has built. He was the final authority in his world. That was until one dare to question him, his actions, his beliefs, his all. Avianna has been misled, lost, confused, deceived, and no more for her. She has taken charge of her life, to a point. Now, she dares question the one man that can rub her raw with the frictions their mutual disdain creates.

The snarky banter. The flippy comebacks. The take charge. The tit-for-tat. Avi and Noah has sparks flying whether it was for control or retort. Sexual attraction was filling the air and causing its own destructive wave. Avi was strong willed and defiant. She presented much frustration. She was a challenging character to read and for Noah to get a bead on. He struggled with how to deal with her and the sparks between them.

The power struggles. The deceit. The disdain. The action. The pacing. The inter-play. There was so much here that a few times stopping everything and going back a few pages was required. There was much her to absorb and still stay on top of it all. There were plot twist. And then there were just plain twist. There were things that will have you on the edge of your seat.

I will be starting book two soon. This has to have a resolution that will cut through some of the many questions.… (altro)

I am honestly finding it almost impossible to write a spoiler-free review of LIAR because my opinion is based entirely on the events that happen. I am going to attempt to do so, however.
LIAR is a very beautifully written short story that invoked strong feelings and emotions that I did not expect in this relatively quick read. The title, while very aptly named, turned out to be much more accurate than I expectedly. I, personally, felt as if it was difficult for me to actually like the majority of the characters and the choices they made but I did form a connection with them that came from a place of very strong dislike. All in all, while I cannot say that I particularly enjoyed the story, I did find myself very invested in it.… (altro)
