The BCG Genealogical Standards Manual di Board for Certification of Genealogists
I love this book. It reminds you to be honest in your research and work in genealogy, even if this is only for your own family. There are standards that all genealogists SHOULD abide by. This should be the first book you read if you are just getting started.
Concise and informative instructions; it's also given me list of many more reference materials.
A good reference for standards of proper genealogical research.
I refer to this often to assure I am adhering to Standards!
