Sold by Marks & Spencer in 1984; this is a handy quick reference guide to home electrical D.IY.
It begins with an Introduction to the electrical network with a guide to identifying your system.
There is a section on Accessories and Tools, and Basic Techniques.
Main jobs are split between Lighting Projects (which is self explanatory), and everything else; from adding a new circuit to shaver points, door bells and power to outbuildings etc. is in the section Power Projects.
The final chapters are on Maintenance and Repairs, and Emergencies (First Aid).

Professional electricians would probably advise burning such an old book, as so much has changed over 30 years; but, much sound advise is still to be had in here. Just be aware if its age, that is all.… (altro)

It was necessary for me to get a decent DIY book that would show me how to do things, without being patronising or faffing about in DIY jargon, with no (or few) pictures - this book fits the bill, it does explain each job properly, the illustrations are great and all the key DIY techniques are indicated. Ok, it is a bit old, as books go (the pictures are, by any means), but the DIY sections are clear and to the point, so I am keeping it for the time being. Recommended for men and women who want to tackle a DIY project or some repairs, but are scared to try anything! :-)… (altro)
