(Aldous Lexicon 01) Atrapado en otra vida di Michael Lawrence
Cuando su madre murió en un terrible accidente ferroviario, la vida de Alaric Underwood empezó a desmoronarse. Dos años después, a la edad de 16, todavía no ha superado la pérdida. Sin embargo, en el aniversario de la tragedia, Alaric tropieza con una realidad alterna en la que su madre ha sobrevivido el accidente. El problema es que en esa realidad él no existe. Allí, su lugar lo ocupa una chica llamada Naia que está viviendo una vida que debería haber sido la de él.
Como casi todos los chicos de su edad, Jiggy McCue siente una terrible pereza a la hora de cambiarse de ropa interior. Harta de esta situación, su madre decide comprarle unos calzoncillos nuevos. Pero lo peor de la prenda elegida no son sus espantosos dibujos ni sus colores chillones... Esos calzoncillos infernales parecen tener vida propia y han empezado a dominar los actos de Jiggy. La peor semana de la vida de Jiggy McCue está a punto de comenzar.
I found this book to be really hard to follow and rather boring. No matter how many times I tried to sit and read it, it never caught my attention.
This book was such a freaking letdown. I really liked the first two books in the series but hated most this final installment.
The details of how the multiple realities worked was left vague previously but in this book the author tries to explain how everything works, only none of it makes any sense! The plot is also pretty muddled, I guessed all the twists, and the story doesn't have the same cohesive feel as the previous books.
Its also got a number of unpleasant scenes that seemed to have no place in the book. Animal death, animal mutilation, graphic child murder, sexual assault...and none of it dealt with well in my opinion. And even though I still really like the two main characters I find the character of AU (whose name has to be a joke right?) utterly detestable. The author doesnt seem to feel that way though, and AU takes a central role in the story.
I wanted to finish the series and find out what happened, but honestly could have done without reading this. There were a few scenes I enjoyed but overall I just dont know what the author was thinking.
