This book is a true story about a five year old girl, named Ursula, who gets abused by her mothers boyfriend. This book tells about the girls last week of her life. She goes from eating tons of soap to being punched in the stomach. And the mother doesn't even do anything to stop it.

This book was really life changing. I always knew that child abuse was a horrible thing, but after reading this it just made me down right mad.And i just cant believe people actually do that stuff to little kids… (altro)

I have been in foster care for seven years, and I read these books because it makes me appreciate my life more. It also makes me realize that I didnt have it half as bad as some other children in the world. I was in a group home when this book was recommended to me. As soon as I was told to read it, I jumped in the car and went to the bookstore to get it. While walking out of the bookstore I was already reading.

The book starts out as the last week of this little girls life. Her name was Ursula, and she was five years old when this happened. While her mother was at work her deranged boyfriend would watch Ursula. He made her stand in the backyard all day until she wet herself, because once that happened she would have to come in side and eat soap. Over a seven day period she stood in the backyard all day, ate soap, marched around the house saying her alphabet( and if she dare mess up she knew what would happen)stand in a suit case all night, and she was not aloud to eat or drink anything.

On that seventh night the little girl was weak, her mother now comes to her side to try and fix things. Her breathing was labored , and yellowed skin, and deficating. Her mother leaves the room to go get her some water and when she comes back she is dead. Her and her boyfriend start panicing they throw her in a garbage bag. They throw her in the river behing thier house.

At the end of the book there is a comprehensive guide to stopping child abuse. No child should have to endure something so serioud and painful.I loved this book and I would recommend, it is a depressing but inspiring book.
