Dorothy Krell

This book is special to me because it has a picture of Pala, the only surviving sub-mission, and that is where, in 1960, I met the person who would become my husband. Back in the '60s the mission was still being used to teach Indians.
This book gives the history of the missions, showing pictures of them as they were when they were built, and also some excellent photos of how they looked at the time the book came out in 1972. For me, this is a piece of very personal history, but anyone who is interested in the history of the California missions would still enjoy the book.… (altro)
