This has a very promising beginning and middle. The hard part is it starts to unravel just as the suspense increases and the reader should be most engaged.
This story gets bogged down by too many reveals and is needlessly complicated.
It just feels like the author tried too hard.
Also I detest that the author uses 'diversity' as an excuse to affirm antiblack stereotypes.
It's a fuck no, from me.

OMG!! I'm not even sure what to say....other than WOW!! I just love a good book with unexpected twists and "The Girl Before" did not fail. Not in the least. Just when you think you have everyone and everything figured out, you find out that you don't! I highly recommend this book!!!
