I was about halfway through this before remembering that I had read it before (not a great sign to begin with) . . . The initial turnoffs still held true. The author puts forward was she considers the only acceptable interventions for a wide range of intensity-related issues and speaks often and pretentiously of her prominent "client families" and their level of professional success and material wealth. Blargh.

The author uses examples from her counseling practice to illustrate the various challenges in raising a gifted child. The book is probably of most use to someone who wants an overview of social-emotional issues, choosing schools, and advocating for gifted children.
