- Thomas B. Kirsch is a Jungian analyst in private practice in Palo Alto, California, and the son of two first-generation Jungian analysts, James and Hilde Kirsch, who began their analytic work with C.G. Jung in 1929. He graduated from Yale Medical School in 1961, completed his psychiatric residency at Stanford Medical Center in 1965, and graduated from the C.G. Jung Institute of San Francisco in 1968. He was president of the C.G. Jung Institute of San Francisco from 1976 to 1978, served on the executive committee of the International Association for Analytical Psychology from 1977 to 1995, and was IAAP president from 1989 to 1995. He has also been a member of the American Academy of Psychoanalysis since 1976.
