From open to close, this was a great book intended for middle-school students. This is a biography about actress/writer/ poet Maya Angelou. The book is beautifully illustrated and pauses its narrative to include poems by Maya Angelou.

I found out so much that I did not know about Angelou. She began her career as an actress and was once married to a Greek sailor, Tosh Angelous.

"Maya Angelous whas overcome the obstacles of poverty, rape, and self-doubt..." It is her stuglle that enabled her to become the strong black woman that she is today. She certainly know why "the caged bird sings."… (altro)
