Abbas Kiarostami (1940–2016)

Un homme d’une quarantaine d’années (fort bien interprété par Abdolrahman Bagheri) cherche une personne qui accepterait d'effectuer une mission pour le moins spéciale contre une importante somme d'argent. On apprend au fil du temps qu'il souhaite qu'on l'enterre après avoir réalisé son suicide.
En chemin, à bord de son 4x4, il rencontre dans la banlieue de Téhéran un soldat, un étudiant en théologie et un gardien de musée, vivant à la limite de la marginalité. Les trois personnages réagiront de manière différente à sa proposition.
Le troisième saura lui parler du goût inimitable de la cerise.
Avec tranquillité et poésie, Abbas Kiarostami aborde un élément non seulement tabou mais interdit en Iran. Les paysages arides de l'Iran et les banlieues dévastées de Téhéran sont très bien filmées.
La fin du film, ouverte, laisse au spectateur le choix de la décision finale que prendra le "candidat" au suicide.… (altro)

I may claim that I'm a good viewer of Kiarostami cinema, I've watched many of his films, yet it was not easy for me to imbue its beauty, sometimes it needed me to rewatch them passionly.

This book was like an artistic guide for me; a handbook for Kiarostami's cinema, and more over into his fruitful soul. Its poetic imagery harmonically embraces his cinematographic visions like a charm.

It's another piece of art that made me admire Kiarostami more.

P.S. I shouldn't forget to mention that the translators really made a fine work, and what I loved the most is that I read the bilingual edition, it was truly a pleasure for me to taste the original Persian text while reading the English translation.
