As a movie novelization, this is not bad. The author has not done what most do in this situation, which is convey only dialogue and setting, so that it reads more like a screenplay. This reads more like an actual book, which is nice. The story probably does lend itself much more to visuals, but Ted has done a good job of describing them. I've never seen this film, (and I wasn't aware it was one when I acquired the book) but I might check it out after reading this.

This is a novelization of the movie by the same name. Reading the book was just like seeing the movie, with almost no changes or additions. No changes makes sense, but it would have been fun to get inside Jake's head a bit, or even Frank's.

Don't read the book. Watch the movie. It's very cute, and this novelization doesn't do it justice.
