Josie Kearns

While the title of this collection might seem like it makes a promise it can't keep, Kearns' poetry impressed me with its worldly subject matter and down-to-earth meditations of, well, everything. It's not every day that an American poet comes up with such a well informed, well traveled set of writings, and what I like best about the pieces in this book is the distance I sometimes feel between the world in which I live and the worlds from which they must have come.
