In the third book of the Solsti Prophecy series, we meet the third Solsti sister, Gin Bonham, and we already met Matthias, a very gifted Lash demon warrior, in the last book. Gin controls the element of fire and she’s terrified of it, so much so that she refuses to use it. Mathias and his sister, Ria, pretend to be human and befriend her to keep her safe.
Matthias is different from most Lash demons because he’s an excellent tracker and can find anyone or anything. He does a lot of undercover work and he’s not afraid of getting his hands dirty.
Ria is a vibrant, strong, wonderful character and I love her interactions with her brother. They have total respect and trust for one another, and it’s refreshing to see a brother treat his little sister as an equal, not as someone he has to protect or put double standards on.
Though I enjoyed this book, I couldn’t connect with the heroine, Gin. I liked her stubbornness and her willingness to help others and do good, but she downright refused to listen to reason and blamed Matthias and Ria when they tried to help her. Her sisters, Nicole and Brooke, have told her so much about various magical creatures but she just zoned them out and ended up in trouble as a result.
The romance bloomed quickly between Matthias and Gin. Their connection and chemistry drew them together and made them inseparable in the beginning, but then everything went bad. When they came back together, their connection grew and their love for one another strengthened.
I loved all the scenes with the side characters and I especially couldn’t stop smiling when Brooke and Nicole found out about their link to Ashina and Ranerio.
There were a few editing issues but I could overlook them. Nothing major. I’m definitely anxious to read the last book in this series and I can’t wait to start on the spinoff series.
3.5 Stars

In book one of the Solsti Prophecy, Gunnar is a two hundred year old Lash demon with a dark, painful past. He belongs to an elite group of warriors called the Watchers. The Lash demons are from the Torth realm and the group monitors and protects the various realms, including Earth, from evil creatures and to always keep a balance of good and evil. Gunnar and four of his brethren have made their base in Chicago where they’re hunting Skell demons.
Nicole and her sister Brooke have unusual elemental abilities. Nicole can control the air and her sister controls water. It’s not until Nicole meets Gunnar that she realizes the truth about her heritage and the role she and her sisters will later play to protect the world and all the realms from an unspeakable evil. They’re Solsti, a rare and ancient race of sisters who saved all the realms thousands and thousands of years ago. It’s prophesized the sisters will return in new bodies, as new people, when the realms need them again.
Gunnar is sexy and protective, Nicole is strong and smart, and they make an excellent team. Their lust and romance builds fast but it’s believable. The sex scenes are hot and long. Their trip to Torth was awesome, especially their visit to Rivkin, the home of the wood nymphs. Torth is a dangerous, magical fairytale-type land that’s home to various creatures, both good and evil. Gunnar’s comrades—Kai, Brenin and Rhys—are so swoon worthy and the sexual tension between Kai and Brooke was off the charts. I definitely can’t wait to read more about these demons and their future women. Raniero’s back story is heartbreaking and I’m anxious to find out more about his lost love, Ashina.
Though the book is well-written, I found a few stray typos but nothing to take me out of the story. I love the character development and I’ll be sure to read more in the series.

The timeline of this novella takes place after book 2 of the Solsti Prophecy series and during the beginning of book 3, but can be read as a standalone from the other books.
We met Garnet in book 2, a plant pixie/fairy and a kitchen slave at the Stroehm prison compound, and she helped Kai and Brooke escape the prison.
In this novella, the evil tyrant Draven is killed not long and now the compound is in an uproar. Garnet and her son, Dash, are in hiding from the sadistic guards and the gladiator slaves who are running mad through the compound. Help arrives in Matthias and Bianca, the Lash Hunter and a Deserati demon/porter respectively. Garnet returns to her hometown of Ivydale after being kidnapped 172 years ago. A lot has changed but she’s determined to rebuild her life and make a better one for her son.
Aden is a Deserati demon. He’s an innkeeper who desperately needs a new chef but he’s also a spy sent to Ivydale to protect the peaceful villages and towns in the area from Viper demon attacks. Aden is also a scryer, meaning he can weave a little magic and spy on other people in real-time, no matter the distance. Garnet takes the job as the new chef and romance slowly blooms between them.
I really enjoyed this book. The trauma Garnet experienced could drive a weaker person to suicide, but she’s so strong and brave. Despite all the horrors she seen and suffered, she’s still kind and good-natured but lacks self-esteem. It’s completely understandable. As she grows and finds herself, she also finds Aden, a man who understands and loves her for who she is.
This is a very sweet love story about redemption and triumph, and fits well with the series.

In the fourth and final full length book in the Solsti series, we finally figure out what happened all those years ago to the youngest Bonham sister. Everyone believed Alina died when she was about two years old but little did they know that Alina wasn’t human and couldn’t be treated with human medicine. She needed magic, and she got it but at a price.
Caine is a Lash demon with a photographic memory and he was on assignment in the last book to catalogue stolen items at a criminal’s house. He meets Alina there and knows there’s something different about her. She’s a thief and a damn good one, but they later get separated. They meet again in this book and he wants answers. It also happens to be the fertile time of year for many demons and other supernatural creatures, so Caine’s sex drive is on high alert.
Alina is one of the strongest and level-headed of the four sisters. She controls the element of the earth, meaning she can open craters in the ground, uplift trees, create dirt storms, build mountains, and do a number of other awesome things. The chemistry between Alina and Caine is volatile and believable. They both fall hard and fast, especially Caine, but she has a life-altering secret she’s scared to tell him.
I loved all the scenes with Alina, her sisters and her grandparents. Even though Alina loves her adopted father, she wanted and needed her sisters too.
The finale (fight scene) has been building for the last four books. I totally enjoyed it but I did have a little trouble keeping track of all the characters involved since there were so many.
I definitely recommend this book and series for anyone who wants to read a good demon romance.
