My Thoughts....

I like this love story that featured Derrick ad Keli. Truly these two had some hurdles before they come get their HEA but it was worth it. The author did a wonderful job with its characters where you were able to see their 'joy, pain, love and even commitment' in getting to a wonderful understanding that they belonged together. "Nobody's Business" by M.J. Kane

What I liked about this novel...

I liked the way this author was able to give the reader a good read of 'Book Four' that continued on so well with the rest of this series with this one being about a wonderful well written story of love. I enjoyed the twist and turns showing the raw and imperfect emotions.... that were presented so well by in Kai and Trevon's story.

What did I like about the leads?....heroine & hero

Kai Malone: heroine...indeed a interesting person...now 35 years old...a firefighter[saves life's], confident, wonderful daughter and friend...who knew her own mind of what she wanted in her life or so she thought until she meets back up with her one night with.... Will Kai finally find the true love that she longed for?

Trevon Campbell: now 30 years old ...what a hero...has met Kai [but didn't know her name]...later finding out he has a son from a ex-girlfriend. He steps up and take on his responsibility. I loved the take charge with his son... Justin. Trevon was smart and goal oriented...a good person. Trevon cared for his family and friends and in the end he loved hard....Will Trevon finally find the true love that he wants and needs in his life?

And lets not leave out a few of those secondary characters...

Trina, Shaun, Derrick, Kelli, Alonso, Justin, Ricky, Lopez, Malik, Andre, Sharice, Brian, Ebony, [Sugar], LaShana, Christina, Mrs. Waters, Mari, Shaun to name a few ...all of these characters that this author used in this novel gave the reader a very intriguing, emotional and captivating read that you will not be able to put down until the end. Be ready for a few complexed individuals that will leave you wanting more.

What was my favorite scene: Taken from Chapter 34....
This is toward the end of the story...

"There was nothing to tell. I figured it was stress from going back to work. I've been away for months.
He didn't seem to buy it, but instead of responding, he stayed quiet as if deep in thought.
Oh God, here it comes, I closed my eyes and prepped for the inevitable.
"Kai..."
I took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. When I opened my eyes, Trevon's expression was

"Yes?"
Will you ..."

Did I read Book 1, 2, and 3 before reading Book 4?

YES!....I have read all of these series!

Can "Nobody's Business" be read as a standalone read?

Yes, but I would recommend you read all three of this author's series...'The Butterfly Memoirs' to fully understand the whole story of what has gone on.

Was there anything I didn't like about "Nobody's Business?

Not really..however, I was holding my breath until the very end!

Would I recommend "Nobody's Business" to other contemporary romantic readers?

Yes!

Will there be a 'Book Five' from the The Butterfly Memoirs by this author?

Yes,I believe its will be ....called .... 'ALONE' ... featuring Derrick and Kelli

"Lonely Heart" by M.J. Kane was this author's third book of 'The Butterfly Memoirs." This was definitely a novel of "consequences of past decisions can ruin your future" as it was for the two main characters...Kaitlyn Rogers and Antonio Rodriguez.

What I Liked:

We find from the read that Kaitlyn will have to face some problems...being pregnant, single,new job, a younger sister coming to live with her...leading a lonely life but will there is some light for her after she meets Antonio?

Now, we find that have Antonio will have some problems too...being raised by a single parent due to his mother dying after childbirth of teens, having to help take care of his siblings, not wanting to follow in his fathers footsteps, however, he did find his way to becoming a top notched auto mechanic. But in the end still a lonely man. The question is why were both of these people lonely?

What I Also Liked:

After Kaitlyn meets Antonio due to needing her car repaired, her life will change but before we can get to the happier ever after...This will be where I say you will have to pick up "Lonely Heart" to see how this author will bring it out to the reader. Be ready to go on a roller coaster ride and at the end of the ride we will see some happiness for all, however, before we get there we will see how the breakdown on communication can cause some problems. In the end we will see that the truth and no more secrets shall set you free as it was for Kaitlyn. Will Kaitlyn and Antonio finally have the happiness that they both desired? This novel really does a good job with this heroine in showing us how she really thought about her life and then their is Antonio willing and able to help her through it all only if Kaitlyn will let him. The characters in this novel were all simply off the chart good being well developed, well rounded, real, well portrayed, colorful and well build only to drawn you into the story... and in the end giving us a well told story.

What I Didn’t Like:

I didn't like how Kaitlyn's parents treated their siblings. I found it rather interesting that after the grandchild was born they never left Texas to visit their two daughters and grandchild in California. This was very interesting...only letting me see some of the how and why Kaitlyn was so mixed up about her life.

In The End:

This was a excellent read. I believe for you really to truly understand this third book (friendship) you really will need to read this authors first two novels...Book 1- A Heart Not Easily Broken and Book 2 - Jaded as well as this novel Book 3 - Lonely Heart. In each of these reads you will find that all three novels are of three friends Ebony, Yasmine and Kaitlyn... truly this was a unbreakable friendship. Would I recommend "Lonely Heart?" YES, YES AND YES!… (altro)

Where do I start?! I mean, this was a great great great book! I loved Brian so much! He was an honest and hard working everyday man. He really loved Ebony! They had some great chemistry and the author developed their relationship very well.

I didn't love Ebony, I didn't hate her either, but I rooted for them because they did belong together. I won't spoil the story, but it takes an unexpected turn and WOW! I didn't see that coming!

Overall this was a great read and I will read it again!!… (altro)
