This book provided me an interesting perspective on death!
Throughout our life, we observe death and more life continuously. Normally, we dread death, but the author suggests that it may be a stepping stone to another form of consciousness. Or, perhaps, life & death are flip sides of the same "coin" of consciousness?

Through a first-person narrative of one's experiences with life's transition, this novel explores major what-if questions upon death, e.g., "Did my life have meaning?" and "How will I be judged?" This story captured my curiosity and spun it through several social scenarios that had me fantasizing if my end will be a beginning (a rebirth) -- or not. Readers of gentle religious inclinations (without a hell) should recognize the implications, and this novel will provide them a hypothetical example. Some science-minded readers may be reminded of documented cases of near-death experiences that temporarily transform one's consciousness to a new dimension!

Even some agnostics may be intrigued by proposed ideas of survival and life's purpose, especially since life's "purpose" may have different perspectives. As an agnostic myself, I enjoyed the story as a good science fiction read, but remain uncertain about its merit regarding reality. Either way, this book should open your heart, if not also your mind.

A book can introduce concepts not yet generally known. OTMA 82 does this very well regarding an afterlife.

It gives the reader a sense of living in an expanded time frame where a day on the planet OTMA equals 2+ earth days. The descriptions of the inhabitants native to the planet are vivid. The described landscape imaginative and colourful. The confusion felt by the new arrivals can be understood from the well crafted dialogue. A readers understanding of, as yet undiscovered universal laws, can be expanded by this pleasant trip into the future.

To-day's fantasy might just turn out to be the future's reality. Even when a reader is not a fantasy or sci-fi fan an occasional read in this genre can be enlightening.

I recommend this book by giving it 4 stars out of five.
