The Something Borrowed Sisters by Shirley Jump
Harbor Cove series #3. Contemporary romance. Can be read as a stand-alone but richer if you’ve read the prior two sisters romances. Closed door.
Margaret Monroe took on the responsibilities of adulthood at the age of nine when her mother passed away. She’s mothered her younger sisters through their childhoods and into marriage, keeping her worries and concerns to herself. She feels like she’s alone in her own marriage. Strangers that share a text about dinner but never really meet much less communicate. Margaret has a secret to share with her family and husband but she doesn’t know how. She is afraid that sharing the secret will impact everyone. But to keep it from them may be a betrayal.

This story is a strong argument for not bottling up or repressing your emotions or feelings. I cried copiously reading the last 20% of this book as Meg learned and dealt with everything she’d hidden or denied since she was nine. She’s not the only one. It can be a learned trait passed through the generations. I really think Mike should have done the same and not left Meg standing on the ledge by herself, though this is addressed in the wrap up.
Healing, honestly, openness, sharing and forgiveness.
Obviously it’s an emotional story which makes it both heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. And as a reminder, it’s a romance as well as the conclusion of this family series of sisters. Joyful celebrations at the ending.
Beautiful.
Includes a Reading Guide which I love for all my bookclub people.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley.

Cute romance between a cowboy (Harlan Jones) and a coffee shop owner (Sophie Watson). Harlan moved from Texas to Edgerton Shores, Florida, to temporarily help out his injured brother with his radio station. But Harlan’s real dream is to be a woodworker, and he loves making furniture. Harlan’s neighbor Sophie and he don’t seem to get on. She is constantly complaining about his mischievous dogs, and his mocking comments about her on his radio program, among other things. But after they are entered in the town Love Lottery (which is to help build a community center) and end up with each other as partners for a whole week, they begin to see the good side of each other.

This was a very fun read. I liked the banter between Sophie and Harlan. I enjoyed the fun events of the Love Lottery date week, especially the carnival. I also liked the part when Sophie and Harlan went to look at the dolphins. The townspeople were an interesting group of people.

A sweet, romantic read by Shirley Jump.

I really enjoyed this clean, funny romance. I got this from my TBR pile and I'm not sure where I bought it. I voluntarily chose to review it. I've given it a 5* rating. It was a real pick me up story and pulled me in it's game. It read pretty fast and smiling at the ending.

Very enjoyable and entertaining inspirational romantic suspense book about an arsonist terrorizing the small town of Crooked Valley, Colorado. There's also a sweet romance between widower veterinarian, Mike, and Julia, the woman he's trying to persuade to be his young daughter's occupational therapist. The story was fast-paced with plenty of action and suspense and it kept me entertained throughout.
