Rowland Evans, 1921 - 2001 Rowland Evans was born in 1921 in White Marsh, Pennsylvania. He is best known for his role as a CNN host and a syndicated columnist with the New York Herald Tribune. He attended Yale University and earned his degree in 1941. Following his graduation, Evans joined the mostra altro Marines during World War II and served in the Solomon Islands. Evans first job as a reporter was with the now defunct Philadelphia Bulletin. He later left to cover Washington D. C. and the Senate for the Associated Press, eventually landing a job at the Herald Tribune with fellow columnist Robert Novak. The two covered politics in a column entitled "Inside Report", known for making politicians squirm. They also hosted a political interview show called "Evans and Novak" that remained popular for over twenty years. Evans and Novak co-authored several books on presidential politics together, after Evans had retired from the column. The two most well known of those books are "Lyndon B. Johnson: The Exercise of Power" and "The Reagan Revolution". 884 Lyndon B. Johnson: The Exercise of Power A Political Biography, by Rowland Evans & Robert Novak (read 17 Dec 1966) I have no post-reading note on this book, to my regret. But I think it was not in the conservative vein that Novak in his old age spouted.
