This book is certainly brief; I'm not so sure about brilliant. I do know that, like most books about the writing craft, it left me not wanting to write ever again. There are too many "dont's" for creativity, and there always seems to be an expectation that you will write the same way the author does. But mostly, this is a book that just sort of throws things out there, without any explication, and the guidance provided is minimal to non-existent. This would not be a good starting book for anyone who wants to figure out how to write plays. It does give a few helpful tips, but most of them are just blown by with an offhand comment. I think there are better playwriting books.… (altro)
