Unfortunately, my son didn't find it very engaging and it's not a book he has gone back to as much as a lot of others. I'm not certain why this is but I think some of the words chosen in the story put him off.

This just isn't for the preschool aged children. It is too long and wordy to keep the attention of a preschooler as well as it has too many big adjectives that they really don't know yet. The moral of the story is a little too deep for 3-5 year old children. I think this book would be better for 6-8 year old children instead and I would recommend it to that group for sure.

I enjoyed reading this story to my little ones. The main characters are a little boy, Tim, who didn’t feel big and strong enough, and an apple tree who produced magic apples to help him see the magic he had inside himself. I especially enjoyed the beautiful pictures and the humor the talking tree adds to the story. The message is nice to help a young child to find the strength they have to be confident in themselves.
