Pirate Irwin

Former prisoner of war, Detective Inspector Lafarge, is sent to investigate the murder of young film actress Marguerite Suchet. Lafarge quickly discovers that both Vichy Chief of Police Bousquet and an Abwehr officer who was the lover of the film star are equally suspect. The Tortured Detective is an exciting historical thriller set amidst the complex divided loyalties of France during World War II.
Great character, interesting story line and an unusual ending makes this a great book.

An old fashioned James Bond type story set in London in the 50's.
The main character, Sebastian Stuart is on the run after being tried for treason during the war.
The story has many flashbacks and forwards that it sometimes gets confusing, but a good story non the less.
