This should certainly amuse Yorkiephiles, other dog-lovers who don't mind their breeds being relegated to second-best, and people with a quirky sense of humor. I fall into the lasts two categories. Of course, portraits of beagles would be even cuter.

The book consists of twenty-eight European portraits with Yorkie heads substituted for the human heads, and it works surprisingly well. The name is suitably "yorkified"; the portrait on the cover, for example, is The Most Noble Yarkianne, Marchioness of Huddersfield.

The one thing that doesn't work entirely for me is the male pictures with bows in their hair. I remember seeing a picture of a Yorkie that was described as having a very masculine face. I'm sorry, but nothing with a satin ribbon in its hair is masculine to me. This will not, of course, trouble Yorkiephiles.

I thought this was a hoot, and I promptly sent it to my friends with Yorkies.… (altro)
