I gave this book 3.5 stars because while it was a good informational text, I found it to be not the most engaging. This book outlines the different states of matter and explains what solids, liquids, and gases are. The great part about this informational text is that it puts accurate information into one to two sentences, making it a good reader for a student in primary grades. This would be a great book to send home so that students have a short book to read as homework, but could easily be connected to a worksheet. This would be apart of a physical science lesson. For second graders, this could be used to describe pumpkins during the fall season and we could discuss the mass of a pumpkin. It could also be used during a water science unit to explain the different forms of water. Overall, this would be a great book to use for a physical science lesson!… (altro)
