Annemarie Huste was born in Ulm, Germany on May 30, 1943. At the age of 19, she moved to New York to work as a cook for Gregory Callimanopulos, a Greek shipping magnate. After the death of her next employer impresario Billy Rose, she was a private chef to Jacqueline Kennedy from 1966 until 1968, mostra altro when she was fired for talking to the press. She cooperated with Weight Watchers magazine on an article entitled Jackie Kennedy's Gourmet Chef Presents Her Weight Watchers Recipes, which was published in March 1968, and spoke to Maxine Cheshire, a columnist for The Washington Post. She then worked as the executive chef for The Saturday Evening Post and Gourmet magazine and opened a cooking school in her townhouse in 1972. She worked with Joseph Baumer to start Great Take-Out, a gourmet catering shop on the Upper East Side. She ran it for about four years. She turned the dining room of her house into Annemarie's Dining Room, a private-party space for Wall Street clients, which lasted until 2009. She wrote several cookbooks including Annemarie's Personal Cookbook, Annemarie's Cookingschool Cookbook, and Good Food written with Baumer.
