A very understandable survey of the history of Darwinism explaining the theological reasons for the depth of uncritical acceptance of the theory.

I found the book fascinating!

This theodicy explains why Darwin was so concerned about what God would not or could not do, if he were God (in darwin's estimation). The ideas of Darwin are presented much as Darwin might have, showing the author has a firm grasp of Darwin's ideas and arguements. Then, Hunter shows tha fallicies of Darwin's suppositions, and shows how his arguement is a religious one and not a scientific one.

The title of this book over reaches just a bit, and the author is not quite able to deliver all that is promised in the title. Still, a very good book for it's topic.
