Author served in the Army Reserve for 9 years but was discharged when it was discovered she was gay. This book is a compilation of the stories of gay servicemen and women in the military. Humphrey is not a professional historian and she had a tendency to accept everything her interview subjects told her without questioning the subject's truthfulness, motivations, perceptions or interpretations of events.
