I liked it. But after reading it, I came around to reading the reviews. And, seeing what Koreans say about it has given me a major pause! This book is a major misrepresentation/misunderstanding of Nunchi. So if you ant a self help book, and you agree with the philosophy/approach, it could be beneficial. If you want to learn more about Korean culture, stay away!

I think this was an interesting book to read. Not nearly as much about sex as I had expected from the title, but actually to me that was a good thing.

I liked the book, it was witty, sarcastic, sad at times, portraying the life of an American born Korean woman, finding her way into life, out of debt and a place in the circle of her family (far away, but still with a huge influence) and her friends/acquaintances/coworkers, struggling with the legacy of being a Korean aristocrat. Or not?

This book provides techniques for getting along with some people - and avoiding others. Bypassing social blunders and even more, like making unlikely people happy to help you. It's keeping your eyes and ears open more than your mouth. Being "attuned to the emotions of others." Basically about being intelligent in our interactions with other people. And we can all benefit from that knowledge.

Fun and well written: I didn't like the cover design and the subtitle, but the book is great. I read my parent's copy while I was at their house and could not put the book down.

Euny is a very talented author and the storyline is interesting. The writing is eloquent and funny at the same time. The book provides a view of America from the perspective of Judith, a well-educated foreigner with a bit of an attitude. Judith falls into a bit of a financial predicament that leads her to travel through a series of very interesting life experiences. The readers are taken through the world of Korean and Jewish communities in America and through the upper class societies in New York and Seoul.… (altro)
