I just found this review in a folder on my desktop. Guess I missed the mark. Just in time for Thanksgiving, a cute book about a young girl who saves Thanksgiving. When Grace arrives at her aunt’s house for Thanksgiving she is sad. No one wants to play board games, everything cooking in the kitchen is dry. She stomps upstairs where she discovers her Grandmother’s gravy boat. The boat grows and a group of pirates tell her they have always helped her grandmother and will now help her. Gravy pirates to the rescue. A cute book put out by the Heinz company. Perfect for getting kids in the mood for the holidays.… (altro)

Cute story of Grace and how hard it is for her to accept going to her aunt's instead of grandma's for Thanksgiving. Everything is different. None of the traditions are being followed. She goes to the attic and finds a gravy boat that turns into a pirate ship once she throws it out the window. When the pirates appear, Grace becomes their captain and makes changes to what is happening on Thanksgiving.

I found this fun as Grace tries to get what she sees as traditions to be followed. She is not happy with what anyone is doing especially with the food. She does not want dry food. She wants is the way grandma made it--juicy and full of gravy. This is very imaginative and a good story for your 2-8 year olds as they learn to read and celebrate the holiday of Thanksgiving.… (altro)
