This book made me want to take a few weeks off from "life" and take a road trip with some old high school girlfriends! Claire, Jenna and Nicole each have their own life burdens they've packed up to take along on this road trip of self-discovery. They'd hoped to leave those burdens behind, but along the way, they help each other deal with their "issues" instead of burying them.
The book shows the layers and depth of women's friendships. Friends who maybe haven't seen each other for years, but can pick up where they left off, and be there to support each other when they need it most!
A wonderful story reflecting that although life doesn't always work out perfect, having friends there for you no matter what, makes it all easier to bear!!

This is my first book by this author. . I didn't really know much about the culture or country described in the book but I found the descriptions interesting and detailed. I enjoyed the plot, it was different.

One Good Friend Deserves Another by Lisa Verge Higgins is an absolutely captivating story about four very different women from completely different socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds and the friendship that keeps them grounded as they are faced with potentially life altering decisions. Following a lead from a faded towel, 15-year-old Sadie turns up at the Pine Lake Camp asking owner, Riley Cross, if she is her birth mother. Riley, currently going through a divorce and struggling to keep the camp open, is not Sadie's mother, but offers shelter to the teen who has been living rough since she ran away from home. However, when her old school friend Tess Hendrick unexpectedly turns up, things get complicated. Tess has never been back to Pine Lake, the memories too painful. And those memories threaten to shatter Sadie's illusions apart. Good read.… (altro)
