The Art of Papercraft by Helen Hiebert
Unique One-Sheet Projects Using Origami, Weaving, Quilling, Pop-Up, and Other Inventive Techniques

Fascinating, informative, and inspiring – this book reminded me of a trip with my father to watch master papermakers demonstrate how they made paper. It also reminded me of my children’s science classes in school when paper was one of their projects. It also reminded me of pop-up books my mother bought and that I later made for my granddaughters. I learned information I had not heard before and would love to have this book in my library.

What I would like to try making:
* The pop-up alphabet
* The sailboat envelope
* Some of the cards
* A kite with my granddaughters
* Some of the origami projects
* And more

What I liked:
* The photographs & illustrations
* Historical information
* The directions – easy to follow
* The information on techniques and tools
* The variety of papers included
* The artists and their creations

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I buy it for myself or someone else? Definitely

Thank you to NetGalley and Storey Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review.

I received this e-book ARC of The Art of Papercraft by Helen Hiebert through Net Galley from Storey Publishing, LLC in exchange for a truthful review.

Wow, I am really enjoying this book! Starts off with a history of paper/paper making, proceeds with tools used in papercrafting and then follows up with lots of cool projects. Most of these projects don't appear to be too difficult and they look impressive when completed! I don't think I will delve into making my own paper, but I will definitely try projects beyond the origami section projects, which I knew I would enjoy. Exploding cube? Cool!… (altro)

5 stars, For a person who wants to be crafty
THE ART OF PAPERCRAFT by Helen Hiebert
This how-to book has something for everyone, from how to make your own paper, to the art of the things you can make from one, single piece of paper.
I especially liked the origami and pop-ups. Highly recommend it.
Many thanks to #netgalley for the complimentary copy of #theartofpapercraft I was under no obligation to post a review.

This book contains probably all the technical information you will need to make your own paper from any number of materials -- whether you are starting by recycling paper from your waste bin, or going out into the wild and harvesting the plants yourself. Diagrams are included for most equipment, from simple deckles to elaborate vacuum presses. Included also are the most extensive instructions I've ever seen on how to do large-scale casting, via armature and otherwise. If you are seriously interested in papermaking, you cannot go wrong with this book.

If you are already making paper and looking for project ideas, there are a few, but that isn't really the point of this book. Includes an index and resource guide
