I read this book because I wanted to learn more about Eva Peron. From that perspective, it proved to be a very good choice. The author described Eva's early life, her life as wife of Juan Peron, her tragic death, and the aftermath. In doing so, she carefully distinguishes between fact and speculation. She describes the "white myth" perpetuated by Eva's supporters and the "black myth" related by those who didn't like her. The author is also good at building on Eva's story with relatively new information.

My only complaint about this book is that it is repetitious. Several times, I found myself wondering if I'd misplaced my bookmark. But I still learned a lot from it.

There is no doubt that Eva Peron, as a young, mostly uneducated woman achieved remarkable things. Her story is worth reading.
