Okay, this is so not fair. A short book, interesting premise, way too many dangling questions. Of course, I want the next book, but I just bought 5 new kindle books and I think I'm tapped out for now.
Without doing a book report or giving too much away. How exactly are the girls (yes more than one) getting transported to a new location, presumably in the same era? How are they not missed, how can a small town absorb 3 young ladies in a short time span and not wonder what is happening?

I enjoyed this clean romance. I voluntarily chose to review this and I've given it a rating of 4.5*. This single minded heroine chooses to be a surgeon. She's in her last year of studies, letting nothing stand in her way to her dream, or will she? She's about to finish her break, to finish her studies, when something happens. I thought the last part of this story was very interesting.

Aladdin is still one of my all-time favorite movies. Who doesn't love a magical genie that grants wishes? Beauty and the Beast is also a favorite, and has been watched many a times. What would you happen if you intertwined Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin? Well, you would get Limitless.

While the story is incredibly predictable due to it being a retelling it does add its own little twist on both tales, though I wish there could've been more unique ideas. The predictability, along with the pace of the story, made the book fall flat for me. I will say that there is wonderful characterization, and the unspoken love between Cedric and Hattie is beautiful. The ending did leave a smile on my face, thought it felt like forever to get there.

Still, it is a co-mingling of fairy tales, which did add to its charm, but the entire time I felt like it was missing something and I never did put my finger on what it was. I never could really connect with the characters and their unique situations, and wish I could've had more backstory on the main characters.

This is the first time I've read anything from author Jaclyn Weist and I can see that she has a wonderful imagination, and hope that the other books in this series are better edited, and have that extra depth that is lacking in this story.
