This book provides a good analysis of the historical roots of the modern Japanese legal system and discards certain persistent myths about the Japanese tendency to avoid conflict. Some emphases clearly indicate that this text is intended for American legal professionals, but I still think anyone with a general interest in cultural difference will benefit from reading it.
