Allen and Greenough's new Latin grammar for schools… di J. B. Greenough
Careful revision of the edition of 1888
It's one of my favorites. It's well set up, and intended to keep the student engaged, by interspersing lighter pieces amongst the ever present Caesar's travails in Gaul.I recommend searching this item out, if possible. The brief selections even include Nepos and Pliny.
This is a fascinating lookt at linguistic oddities and how English is so irregular.
