This book is in a graphic/comic book format. This book is easy to read and is engaging because of the graphic format. The text is detailed about the different types of volcanoes, how they form, and how they erupt. The book briefly touches on what happens to people when a volcano begins to erupt and how to make safe choices if you live nearby. While reading, we also learn about the ring of fire and the islands of Hawaii because they are areas that experience the most volcanic activity.

Overall, this book is engaging and informational! It's not a book that I would use as a read-aloud because of its graphic format. Instead, I would have it as a choice book in my classroom library.… (altro)

This book is all about volcanos. What they are, how they're formed, the process of a volcano eruption, where volcanoes are located, what they look like, how there are some on ground and some underwater, and more are all included and described in this book. This could be beneficial across grade levels as a reference, or as a main book used for a unit on volcanoes. This book provides an abundance of information on volcanoes, the affects they have, and how to be prepared for a volcano eruption. This can be a great lesson on volcanoes themselves, the effects of them, as well as being safe where these are a threat to communities.… (altro)

This book teaches about volcanoes in a way that is interesting and appealing to students. This not only teaches them the basics of volcano formation, but also focuses on the effects of volcanic activity on a environment and what kinds of jobs surround volcanoes.

This would be a great book to teach about nonfiction. It includes a Table of Contents, Index, and Glossary. I think that this book was a fun way to see nonfiction as well as to learn about volcanoes. This book goes into plates and what volcanoes really are. It also talks about the Ring of Fire and the different appearances of volcanoes. Such as shield, composite, caldera, and submarine volcanoes. I think this book could work for second grade through early third grade.
