What a great and important book this is for modern-day students! Unfortunately, the author points out early on that it takes "critical thinking" to figure out if something online is fake or real. Because people have overreacted to Critical Race Theory, they might not see this as the neutral source that it is. Every elementary school library and public library should have this book. The author explains old-fashioned bias and opinion and modern deep-fakes on a level children can understand. It's not too bad to read through just for fun.… (altro)

The advertising about this book: “Everything kids need to know to tell facts from “fake news” on the internet” is entirely spot-on! In 6 concise, extremely well-written chapters, using engaging illustrations, examples, definitions, and fun exercises, the author brings the young reader (grades 4-7) step-by-step to develop critical thinking skills, healthy skepticism, and useful research skills. A list of sources, a glossary and an index complement the list of websites and on-line games students and teachers could explore further. As the press release states: “It’s a must-read book on a topic that couldn’t be more important in today’s online world.” I wish my university students had read something like this when they were younger. Highly recommended.
