Once again, as in the first in the series, it is not so much a mystery as a philosophy book, examining life, how it shapes us and how we respond to it. Claire’s substance abuse is a bit difficult to take, but the ending will reward you for sticking with it.... or will it?

Female detctive in a very Noirish New Orleans solves the disappearance of a D.A. using I-ching tiles and a handbook of detection. well drawn characters, plausible plot , rather a lot of drugs and alcohol use on the part of the detective,but, as she is fulfilling the role of an anti-hero, it fits. Will definitely try more

What a trip!!! Eyes wide shut the book, but better. Very very cool.

This was pretty creepy. Getting the POV from within. I know this is just a novella, but either this could have been extended to reflect more of the inner battle and torment, or less with the extra outside elements so the focus could be the inner battle. I really enjoyed the part of the "de-posession"
