Gr 3–5—This homage to the nameless fallen soldiers and the sentinels who guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
in Arlington National Cemetery is not just about a monument. It's a moving, poetic message of selflessness and
citizenry that we don't often find in picture books.

I loved everything about this book - text and illustrations are wonderful and the story of the tomb of the unknown soldier and the sentinel guards who watch over the fallen is compelling. This is an important piece of American history to share.

One Christmas Eve, Al Rosen takes over a Christian friend’s job. For the next 30-plus years, Al repeats this holiday mitzvah, starting a tradition of helping people of other faiths. Based on a true story, this feel-good narrative, with bright, humorous illustrations, shows how one person’s actions can inspire others to perform good deeds. (Picture Book Honor)
