- George Goodwin is a history graduate of Pembroke College, Cambridge, where he was awarded a Foundation Exhibition.
He is Honorary Writer in Residence at Benjamin Franklin House in London, and a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Marketing and of the Royal Society of Arts (and a Member of the William Shipley Group for RSA History).
In 2014 he was an International Fellow at the Robert H. Smith International Center for Jefferson Studies, Monticello.
George lives in Kew, a stone’s throw from the Royal Botanical Gardens.

If it could have done with anything, a timeline of the events covered and a clear demonstration of who was on the throne in each country at the time, both would have helped me to orient myself in time.
The description of the battle was vivid and illustrated with a couple of battlefield maps. The final chapter seemed to be rather short, especially in contrast with the previous chapters leading up to the battle.
At time the writing was slightly stodgy, which made the battle even more dramatic.… (altro)
