I really enjoyed this novel and thought it was the prefect mix between three dark crowns and pretty little liars. I found this book to be super fast pace read and also found the three girls to be very compelling. I loved the various POV and also the magic system was so well crafted and really easy to understand. The writing and pacing made this book so fast to read. I thought the world is so rich and can't wait to see what happens next. I felt equally invested in not only the girls but also the secrets they are holding. I also loved the representation in the novel.… (altro)

Nice, slow development of the interaction and backstory for three step-sisters who had no idea they were daughters of the king until his illness forces him to summon them to the palace. There, they are supposed to learn and be tested to determine which of them will assume the role of ruler since his only son has been murdered and his new wife has yet to bear him an heir. The story grows in multiple ways-the growing trust among the three girls, unease and unrest throughout the kingdom, and someone in the background who is threatening all three of them. The story ends like a steel door slamming in front of your face, and had I bought this when it was first published, that would have been ultra frustrating, but since I just got it last week, I immediately ordered the sequel and am looking forward to finding out what happens next.… (altro)
