"Narratives of Modern Miracles" would have been more accurate, although a fair few took place during the 19th century, which doesn't seem as modern as it used to. It's a well written introduction to Lourdes with a nod to other miraculous pilgrimage sites, filled with well-attested stories of cures. This is a gripping story of Marist missionary to Japan - Tony Glynn, written by his brother. For 42 years he worked in Nara, Japan to reconcile a defeated Japanese people with their former enemies in particular Australia and New Zealand.

One of his main focuses was on repatriating samurai swords which had been taken from captured or dead Japanese soldiers.
