This is a wonderful book about Steve Jobs, one of the most important people in modern history. The book highlights both, Jobs' accomplishments and struggles, throughout his life until his death. There are lots of photographs of Jobs' and his colleagues, along with some of his inventions. The text may be a little difficult to understand because it uses some computer terms, but there is a glossary for that, which is great. I love that there is a timeline, glossary, and essential facts page. Overall, this is a good read for middle school students about the life of Steve Jobs.… (altro)

This is a wonderful book about an extraordinary man. It brings the reader through Steve's entire life from the beginning, highlighting his accomplishments and struggles, through his tragic end. There are a lot of photographs of Steve and his colleagues, along with some of his earliest computer creations. The text is a bit more sophisticated and hard to understand if you're not familiar with computer terms, but there is a glossary to help with that. I love that there is a timeline, additional facts, additional resources, web links, places to visit, the glossary, source notes, an index, about the author, and photo credits. These add so much to the book and I appreciate that the author included them.… (altro)

Other than hearing his name, I first learned about Freud in a high school psychology class. While I am still unsure about the topics that he studied and researched, I am intrigued by them. This book discussed a lot of his work as well as some personal information. This would be a great book to share when learning about biographies because there are a ton of interesting topics to discuss and brain games to share.

This book is a biography on Steve Jobs, one of the most important people in modern history. As it was published recently, it is the only biography that covers Steves's life through till his death. It is part of an essential lives series of books written for young adults. It is relativly small book, not allowing itself to cover much detail. Much of the detail on Steves's life is covered in greater depth in other books. Their are many pages that are taken over with inserts detailing different aspects surrounding Steve's life. They disrupt the flow of the book, and could have been better intergrated into the main text. The book also tries to be neutral about Steves's confrontational personality, not taking a side for or against it. The book has a section that covers addittional sources that students and teachers can use to futher their research, such as webcasts ans well as written articles. At best, this book is a great way to students interested in his life. I would use it for a middle school class with additional materials to support it. For older students, I would have to use something else.… (altro)
